The Laser optical thickness measurements based on laser triangulation is a widely used technology in the non-destructive monitoring of flat products.
The F5500 measuring system represents an interesting alternative to radiometric systems due to the rather simple and compact measurement setup, the independence on the chemical composition of the material to be measured, as well as the comparatively low acquisition costs and maintenance efforts. Furthermore, topics such as radiation protection and time consuming authorization issues became obsolete.
